My Internet Address

Your internet address is unique. Without it, your device could not send or receive any information. Any internet-connected device is given an address. Your internet address can change when reconnected to the internet or your device is restarted.

The format of the Internet Protocol Address is standard. There are two most widely used formats IPv4 and IPv6.

IPv4

IPv4 represents an address formed using the Internet Protocol version 4 format. According to the standard specification, the address must consist of four groups of whole numbers ranging from 0 to 255.

For example, 18.15.9.254 is an IPv4-formatted Internet Protocol address.

IPv6

IPv6 is an address formed using the sixth version of the Internet Protocol. According to the standard specification, the address must consist of eight groups of four hexadecimal digits, separated by colons.

For example, b051:b60:f391:149d:a8cd:e99b:d275:8670 is IPv6 formatted internet address.
